Lawn Mower & Small Engine Repair Shops by State
Every shop in this directory has been checked against a public source (its own website, a manufacturer dealer locator or a business registry) and is dated with the day we last verified it. We publish a city page only when at least 5 shops there meet our listing standard, so you are never looking at a page padded with guesses.

How to choose a small engine repair shop
- Match the brand and the warranty. If the machine is still under warranty, only a dealer authorized by that brand (or the engine maker) can do warranty work. Our listings show authorized brands separately from the brands a shop simply works on.
- Ask about the diagnostic or bench fee first. Most shops charge to diagnose, and many credit that fee toward the repair. Ask whether it is credited and whether you will get a quote before any work starts.
- Check turnaround in spring. March to June is peak season for mower shops. Ask how long the queue is; some shops prioritize machines bought from them.
- Pickup and mobile service. For riding and zero-turn mowers, pickup or on-site service can cost less than renting a trailer. We flag shops that offer either.
- Get the engine model and spec number ready. They are stamped on the engine shroud or a sticker. A shop can quote parts faster with them.
What small engine repair costs
We publish price ranges only from fees that listed shops state publicly. We have 0 so far and will show the table once at least 10 shops are on record. Until then, use the repair-or-replace calculator with the quote you have.
